July 11, 2026, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST

Have you ever thought, “We don’t need technology. Most of our riders are seniors and they’d never use it.” The fact is, older Americans are increasingly embracing technology, using an average of 10 different apps in a three-month period, according to AARP. They just might need a little encouragement and support to get comfortable with tech. In this Tech Talk, Michael Wilson, director of mobility management for the Flint Hills Coordinated Transit District in Kansas, will share how they successfully get seniors to adapt to transit technology.

Learn about one of our $15 Million Equitable Mobility Challenge grant projects: EV carsharing. We recognize that public transit isn’t ideal for every kind of trip people need to take, such as when they have to transport something large or bulky, or if they have to stop at multiple locations during a journey. And some areas don’t have good access to public transit. A low-cost EV carsharing program can help fill that gap. Mobility Development Operations is using its grant to expand its services in four Michigan cities as well as add service in new areas. Learn about the program and how it complements and coordinates with public transit.
